Venue Operations Fellowship
New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) located in downtown Newark, NJ, is the country’s most diverse performing arts center, and the artistic, cultural, educational and civic center of New Jersey — where great performances and events enhance and transform lives every day. We are currently hiring for our Fellows Program. The Venue Operations fellow’s role is to assist Operations Department heads in the functions and operations of the theater, including front of house operations, creation of training videos, digitization of construction documents, inventory control and system management of equipment and supplies, documentation of donor recognition elements, revisions of operational plans, etc. These are a few of the many job functions within the Operations Department whose responsibility is to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for our patrons and guests.
Reports to Vice President, Operations & Real Estate
Schedule
This is an eight-week summer fellowship running June 9 to August 1, 2025.
Must be available Tuesday mornings; additional days and times to be discussed with the supervisor. Some nights and weekends are required to staff performances and events.
20 hours per week
Responsibilities
Work with House Management on performances and the creation of training materials and videos
Updating and revising/creating inventory control systems
Digitizing plans and documents
Maintain operations manuals and training materials
Research local vendors and companies for various goods and services
Run budget reports and analysis data
Collaborate and communicate with other departments relating to operations across the organization
Provide assistance and support within the operations team
Minimum Qualifications
Strong initiative and ability to work effectively in a fast paced, non-profit arts environment
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Video creation and editing experience
Self-motivation and high-level of energy
Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Must be able to lift 5 – 25 lbs. of equipment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiarity with Google Forms, Sheets and Docs
Open to rising college juniors, seniors, post-college graduates or graduate students
Preferred Qualifications
Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, Public Policy majors
3.0 GPA or higher
Involvement in extracurricular activities
Interest in the performing arts and/or nonprofits
