Roles and Responsibilities :
1. Supports design of new comm circuits, maintenance of existing infrastructure, and / or alteration of equipment and / or other rail comm. infrastructure systems.
2. Coordinates the activities of assigned project staff in the design, development and implementation and maintenance of communications infrastructure systems including existing T1s, Ethernet Networks, Voice and Data circuits.
3. Recommends standards and criteria for the design and construction for engineering projects. Support the development of designs, proposals, schedules and cost estimates for assigned projects.
4. Evaluates progress and results of projects and maintenance activities and recommends changes in procedures of assigned projects.
5. Maintains liaison with individuals and units (internally and externally) to facilitate and support rail comm. infrastructure system.
6. Estimates human and other resources needs and schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
7. Document records, produce prints, be familiar with Excel, Word, Visio programs
Education, Experience, and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in computer science / engineering or work experience in computerized industrial control / manufacturing systems, network communications for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) systems or serial data communications. CISCO / CCNA and certifications are a plus. Knowledge of Rail or Highway signal systems and traction power systems are highly desired. One year of closely related experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
