Key Responsibilities:

• Reviews temporary disability benefits claims to ensure required information is submitted and the appropriate medical documentation is received.
• Communicates with physicians regarding questions and concerns related to medical diagnosis and duration of absence.
• Sets and maintains claim reserves, applying knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, medical diagnosis, and case law.
• Authorizes claim payments in compliance with employee application, state law, collective bargaining agreement, and medical documentation.
• Maintains contact with employees during authorized absence and ensures compliance with medical recommendations.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Four years' experience in disability claims, medical environment, or other claims experience.
• Effective communication skills with doctors and employees.
• Able to apply state disability law to day-to-day situations.
