What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Engineer II position at NJ TRANSIT?

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develops structural engineering designs and prepares plans, specifications, schedules, and other contract documents.
- Performs field assessments and verifies existing conditions.
- Perform calculations, sizes structural members, and builds digital analysis models.
- Manage partnerships with utility companies and other outside review agencies.
- Offers delegation and coordination efforts in tandem with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
- May respond to RFIs, review Submittals, and execute Change Orders. May monitor construction progress, and coordinate with Construction Management and Building Inspectors.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Structural Engineering or related field, and 5 years of applied progressive experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- AutoCAD proficiency required. REVIT experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and state & local building codes desirable.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- EIT Certification highly desired (or acquisition strongly encouraged within 2 years of hire)
- Professional Engineer license desirable
Working Environment:
- Office environment with some field work required
Physical Demands:
- Light. Some field work may require climbing steps and/or ladders.
