Summary
SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Under the direction of the department director, provides quality speech pathology services though evaluation of patients and provides the prescribed treatment to restore function and prevent disability.
Speech Language Pathologist for Saturday, Sunday primary to acute care (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) for evaluations and treatments. Outpatient role for Mondays (between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. or at least until 5 p.m.) to support pediatric and adult patient populations. Position has potential to grow to Mondays and Tuesdays or Mondays and Fridays as outpatient needs increase. Outpatient treatment needs for adults include cognitive, oncology, voice, and dsyphagia. Pediatric needs include developmental issues, post-NICU feeding, autism and dyslexia and other related pediatric disorders.
EXPERIENCE: 2 years hospital experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
LICENSE/CERT: Required: SLP (Speech Language Pathologist), BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association)
EDUCATION: Required: Masters - Speech Language Pathology
EXPERIENCE: 2 years hospital experience preferred.
