Description
Essential Functions Statement(s) include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Support Field Sales Efforts – All general aspects, develop a schedule to visit customers on a regular basis to sell them parts, accessories, rentals, and service. Provide them with new product information; review existing equipment needs and processes to help them operate their equipment to its fullest potential. Introduce them to our new NLB Factory Support Program.
2. Inquiry/Quote Fulfillment – Field incoming sales calls if senior sales person is unavailable, issue personalized letters, appropriate literature and videos to potential customers, prepare equipment, rental, and service sales quotations, telephone follow up on quotations.
3. Telephone Out-Calling – Conduct telephone sales of parts, rentals, service, and accessories to existing NLB accounts that you do and don’t visit, plan phone contact frequency and regular calling patterns to maximize sales efforts and produce the greatest profits.
4. Photo/Video - Assist in photo and videotape documentation of equipment and systems in use in the field.
5. Trade Shows - Assist at annual industry trade exhibitions when necessary, including pre/post show follow-up calls.
6. Marketing Database (ACT) - Develop and maintain sales lead data, accurate account profiles, customer unit information, history and reminder information for follow-up and reporting sales efforts over a period of time.
7. Reports – Prepare several reports on the following for example: Lost order, Trouble reports, Call reports, Trip reports and others as required.
8. Meetings – Participate in NLB sales and marketing meetings, monthly and yearly, also special luncheon meetings when necessary. Prepare and present papers on topics assigned with all necessary documentation.
9. Training – Learn NLB’s product line as well as technically be able to understand and work on pumps and accessories. This will enable you to conduct your own training program, on-site operation and maintenance training to help customers use our equipment and be able to answer their technical questions when talking or visiting with them. Implement preventative maintenance programs specific to the customer’s equipment and application and mean times for performing these tasks which help sell parts.
10. Correspondence – Be able to generate different correspondence with customers to communicate in a professional manner.
11. Demos – Act as a liaison between the customer and the service department to arrange demos as required. Organize, schedule and implement new product demonstrations at the customer’s site or in-house.
12. Service Calls – Interface with the Service Department to make follow up visits to customers after service calls are made to ensure customer satisfaction and support them if the customer is not fully satisfied to resolve the problem.
13. Contact – Follow through on orders, computing order entry, credit approval and shipment verification as necessary and maintain contact with, and issue account update reports to capital sales representative.
14. Responsible for customer inventory review as well as training on product maintenance, operation and safety.
15. The position requires a very high level of travel with a multi-state territory. It is expected that the candidate will spend, on average, three nights each week overnight on the road.
16. Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers, and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally.
17. A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.

Education and/or Experience
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Interpersonal interaction required at all levels.
- Preferred that the candidate have a strong technical/mechanical background with three to five years’ technical experience and some sales experience.
- A strong background in Water Jetting applications and/or operation and repair of Water Jetting equipment is mandatory.
- Thorough understanding of high-pressure pump units and their accessories.
- Excellent organizational skills. Able to prioritize and accomplish multiple deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to different situations.
- Professional image & character
- Ability to work as a team member, within the Sales Department, with other NLB departments and with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to learn and understand NLB’s product line and primary target markets.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record (insurable) to be able to perform the job.
Other Requirements
Three to five years of professional sales (industrial) experience.
Strong written, verbal, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadline.
