Job Description: Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT)
Position: Extendable Contract (13 Weeks)
Location: New London, NH
Shift: Afternoon Shift (5x8's: 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and certified Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT) for an extendable 13-week contract position at our healthcare facility in New London, NH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the proper sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment used in clinical procedures. This position requires expertise in sterile processing procedures, ensuring that all instruments are cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized to the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare medical equipment and instruments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Inspect, test, and monitor the functionality and integrity of medical instruments and sterilization equipment.
- Properly package, label, and store sterilized instruments and equipment for safe distribution to clinical areas.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, ensuring all sterilization cycles are properly documented.
- Collaborate with medical and surgical teams to ensure timely and safe availability of sterile instruments.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain knowledge of current best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure sterilization protocols are followed and meet established standards.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Certification and Qualifications:
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Valid Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification.
- Valid Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification through IAHCSMM.
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing principles, including aseptic technique, sterilization methods, and infection control practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions and protocols.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a sterile processing environment is preferred.
Shift and Compensation:
- Shift: Afternoon Shift, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 5x8's (Monday to Friday).
- Duration: 13-week extendable contract position.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
