FL-DOH-Duval County-Medical Assistants - Provide direct patient care services of a medical nature in a cllinical setting
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Open workstation and clinical area
- DRESS CODE: Scrubs, preferably Navy Blue
- COMPUTER SOFTWARE: Health Management System (HMS), Microsoft Office
- EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have Medical Assistant Certification
CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct patient care services of a medical nature in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Phlebotomy skills as well as administering IM and Subcutaneous injections
- Ability to administer and read accurate blood pressure testing
- Interviewing patients and obtain a complete medical history
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Distribute prescribed medications
- Effective communication skills
Required Skills:
- Ability to speak and understand English and communicate effectively
- Experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting
- Have a medical assistant certification
- Skilled at taking and reading accurate blood pressures
- Experience distributing prescribed medications to patients
- Experience interviewing patients to obtain complete medical histories
- Experience in phlebotomy administering IM and Subcutaneous injections
