Day To Day Responsibilities
- Azure Architect will be advising agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure including in-place migrations/refactoring.
- Architect will need to make recommendations on lift and shift and on-premise to cloud native migrations.
- Architect will need to make recommendations with refactoring within Azure environment.
- Architect will need to conduct testing within Azure to show minimal viable products of an architecture.
- Architect will need to understand available offerings from COV, MSI and other connected parties.
- Architect will make configurations to Azure in support of agency-level objectives. The configurations will be primarily to Azure-based services.
- Architect will need to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
- Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals
- Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications
- Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications
- Strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architecture
- Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Services (examples: Azure Key Vault, Entra ID, etc.)
- Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web App/App Service, Containers, micro-services architecture and serverless architecture.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security principles, including zero-trust, network segmentation, just-in-time access, conditional access etc.
- Knowledge of availability options. Demonstrated experience in architecting solutions that meet RPO and RTO objectives in Azure.
- Effective documentation writing. Candidate should be able to write professional documentation, including position papers, architecture documentation a
- Experience in managing cloud-based security posture activities, including vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense architecture, encryption in tran
- Knowledge and experience in DevOps including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
- Knowledge and experience in data storage products like SQL Server and Oracle. Knowledge of non-relational data storage products like Cosmos DB.
- Experience as a on-premises architect 5 years
- Strong communication skills. Candidate should be able to effectively communicate with technical and business staff.
