The Electrical Engineering (EE) Team at nLIGHT DEFENSE Systems develops and integrates a large range of devices to enable high-speed control of laser and electro-optical components for high energy laser weapon systems. Our EE Team addresses challenging DoD requirements including high power battery and high-power AC-DC conversion solutions, high efficiency and high-power DC-DC power conversion, complex multi-function MIL-STD cabling solutions, high-speed data fiber MIL-STD cabling solutions, PCB design/development/test, challenging trouble-shooting, and tight packaging challenges. The EE Team members are dynamic problem solvers that typically have to work around numerous optical and mechanical constraints, making the job particularly challenging and interesting. We are seeking Electrical Technicians with a passion for delivery of cutting-edge High Energy Laser (HEL) weapon systems as part of a dynamic and hard-working team.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years professional experience working with electrical systems including cable building, soldering, test procedure execution, integration/assembly, and inspection. Candidates should be familiar with safe operation of high voltage and/or high power systems and exercise a strong appreciation for the importance of safety. Candidates should also be willing to work additional duties related to facility support (clean rooms, chillers).

Responsibilities
- Build and test rugged MIL-STD data and power cabling solutions
- Work with mechanical and electro-optical engineers on integration and test of tightly packaged integration solutions for cabling, power, and cooling.
- Employ safe electrical and power practices at all times.
- Work may be performed at 1851/1841 Lefthand Cir, 1301 Iowa Ave or Table Mtn Test Facility

- Experience in PCB Test and/or Repair.
- Ability to build cables from a cable drawing/schematic.
- Integration of electronics, cables and boxes into larger systems.
- Ability to execute test procedures for electronics and/or electronic assemblies.
- Competence in maintaining cleanliness standards and operation in a clean room environment.
- Familiarity with ESD sensitive devices and handling practices.
- Familiarity with IPC and/or J-STD standards for workmanship.
- Experience with 38999 connectors and MIL-STD Cables.
- Ability to read information from schematics and implement breadboard solutions.
- Experience with configuring/using PCB test fixtures.
- Experience working around high voltage sources.
- Experience with MS Office 365 tools.
