NLign Analytics provides unique, patented software-based solutions used in the manufacture and maintenance of aircraft to capture, organize, and visualize detailed structural inspection and repair data. The NLign software solution is currently used in aerospace manufacturing applications to improve first pass yield and increase manufacturing rate. In addition, NLign is used within the US military to improve structural maintenance processes to reduce costs and improve aircraft availability and is recognized as a critical component of their thread / twin strategies. NLign's uniqueness is in its ability to organize data by aligning it to 3D structural models. This interactive 3D environment has been demonstrated to drive improvements throughout an organization, including improving inspection processes, quality engineering analysis, and material review board processes. We thrive on helping our customers achieve their goals and creating value for them. NLign Analytics is a division of Etegent Technologies Ltd., a privately held company based in Cincinnati, OH.

About the Role :

The Product Manager is a critical team leader overseeing complex and strategic product initiatives that are linked to our solution portfolio. This role will be the first of its kind for NLign. Today it is being done by committee without deep focus or strategic intent. We expect that the Product Manager will drive the alignment of product strategy with overall company objectives while collaborating with Sales / Marketing and Development Operations toward successful execution. This role requires a seasoned professional who can operate at both strategic and tactical levels. The ideal candidate will have a deep sense of ownership and excellent analytical and leadership skills. This position will likely have up to 60% travel spending time on customer requirements and product evolution. The remaining time will be spent at our headquarters in Cincinnati coordinating with Marketing, Sales and Development.

Key Objectives

  • Determine how we differentiate : Develop and build our product strategy that understands current and potential market rivals and determines how we differentiate and innovate our product so that we are the market leader.
  • Champion the Customer : Gain deep insights into user needs through direct interaction, research, and data analysis. Reveal customer needs that may be unknown to them.
  • Develop and Own the Product Roadmap : Define and execute the product strategy to achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally : Partner with all teams to develop and deliver high quality products.
  • Leverage AI : Drive AI-first solutions that create value and enhance user experience.
  • Be Data Driven : Prioritize, measure success, and iterate using robust data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze various product inputs, customer requirements, and develop the business case for new product development.
  • Prepare software concepts including product specifications, use case documentation and story boards (collaboratively with our DevOps team).
  • Organize market research including analyzing customer segments, reviewing industry research reports, and assessing strengths and weaknesses of competitors to define new opportunities.
  • Study our industry standards and stay up to date on industry changes, market innovation, and compliance issues.
  • Gather inspiration and ideas by visiting customers regularly and reviewing software and other products that solve similar problems in other domains.
  • Collect direct customer feedback, study customer support incidents, administer user surveys, and visit customers to study product interaction in their natural environment.
  • Establish prioritization of roadmap features including developing the business case and working with teammates to determine feature timing.
  • Work closely with internal and external resources to define system requirements that meet changing market needs and ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.
  • Collaborate with our leadership team to bring together divergent ideas and align various stakeholders to rally behind a single product vision.
  • Contribute to the product roadmap, including documenting product vision and strategy.
  • Conduct post-launch evaluations to assess the outcomes and ROI of product initiatives.
  • Present actionable insights to executive leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and own key performance indicators (KPIs) for product management.
  • Continually refine and evolve buyer personas based on market trends and customer insights.
  • Contribute to the development of solution pricing strategies that encompass business value and market position.
  • Collaborate on the creation of product budgets and prepare budget documents for review by the management team.
  • Determine what our new "quality digital thread" market category will need in the future.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • 6 years of software product management experience within multiple industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • A proven track record of owning complex software product areas end-to-end and delivering results.
  • Experience working effectively with engineers and understanding technical trade-offs.
  • Possesses a strong customer-focused orientation with experience translating user needs into impactful solutions.
  • Experience with global solutions including data analysis, experimentation, and using data to drive decisions. Advanced level skills in Excel, PowerBI, or another data analysis tool.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, hit deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action, who thrives in ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with influence.
  • Experience with developing business cases and executing them.
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive a U.S. Security Clearance which at a minimum requires applicant to be a US Citizen. See : Executive Order 12968 indicates U.S. Citizenship requirement to obtain a security clearance.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in AI-first products
  • Experience with SaaS delivery
  • Possesses financial acumen
  • Experience working closely with sales
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry
  • Current secret-level clearance.
