Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning and Architectural Design: Define the overall data architecture strategy, principles, and frameworks in line with business goals. This involves understanding and translating business requirements into scalable, robust, and secure data architecture solutions.
• Advanced Data Modeling and Design: Lead the design of complex data models and database solutions. This includes overseeing the implementation of bronze/silver/gold data modeling methodologies and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational objectives.
• Technology Leadership and Innovation: Evaluate and recommend new and emerging data technologies and tools for suitability within the organization's technology landscape. This might include advanced analytics, AI integration, or new database technologies.
• Governance, Compliance, and Data Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations. Oversee data quality initiatives to maintain the integrity and reliability of the data.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with key stakeholders, including senior management, IT teams, and external partners, to align data architecture with business strategy. This includes providing technical leadership and guidance to data engineering teams.
• Performance Optimization and Scalability: Oversee the performance, scalability, and maintenance of data systems. This includes continuous monitoring and optimization of data storage, processing, and retrieval mechanisms.
• Mentoring and Team Leadership: Act as a mentor and leader within the data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. This includes sharing knowledge and expertise in advanced data architecture concepts and tools.
  
  

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and/or 7 years related experience in a data focused discipline.
• 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong understanding of programming concepts and general software development principles
• Proven experience in data engineering, including ETL processes, data integration, and data warehousing.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex data architectures in a similar industry or domain.
• Experience with big data architectures and data modeling in a cloud environment, preferably with Azure or Databricks (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, etc.).
• Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques, including understanding of bronze/silver/gold methodologies.
• Expertise in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases.
• Strong skills in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Advanced understanding of database design principles using SQL Server, AWS RDS and/or NoSql
