What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Supervisor position at NLYMCA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Building Supervisor is responsible for total building security and supervision in the absence of management staff. The Building Supervisor greets members and guests visiting the YMCA. The Building Supervisor enforces all program and building policies and makes periodic checks of all areas of the building, gives tours, and sells memberships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Handles all potential building and program concerns including, but not limited to, security.
2. Handles all group rental such as checking them into proper areas at building, checking on group during rental times, and making sure groups leave building at proper time.
3. Liaison to staff and members and fills out Building Supervisor reports at end of each shift.
4. Enforces closing times to make sure all members/staff are out of building at proper times and locks up program area after closing.
5. Gives tours to potential members; helps out members.
6. Attends required staff trainings/meetings; other duties as assigned by Directors.
7. Provide members with exceptional customer service and promotes YMCA membership and programs.
8. Provide information and assistance related to membership rates, programs, services, scholarships and other YMCA amenities.
9. Prepare member records and issues Membership ID cards and handle all registration/enrollment transactions.
10. Answer phones and performs other assignments as needed in appropriate and efficient manner which includes the ability to multitask effectively.
11. Follow up with prospective members and new members per Association standards.
12. Provide informative tours to prospective members in accordance with Association tour requirements.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent work/education experience.
2. Have ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. Also, possess ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all socioeconomic segments of the community.
3. Ideal candidate will possess excellent conflict resolution and communication skills.
4. Certification Requirements within 60 Days of Hire Include: CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens. YMCA will facilitate and offer this training.
5. Good organizational, verbal, written, communication & presentation skills.
6. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business & finance software.
7. Consideration for employment is subject to a background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Must have excellent communication skills.
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
3. Ability to visually inspect building condition, equipment, computer monitors, etc.
4. Must have ability to perceive audio & visual alerts for emergency purposes.
5. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
6. Must be able to access all areas of building including pool areas, closets, stairwells, locker rooms, wellness center, etc.
