What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Administrative Assistant position at NLYMCA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Childcare and / or Associate Executive Director and in accordance with the association and policies of the Northern Lights YMCA, the Childcare Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the administrative duties as they relate to childcare, school age and the Wells Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with parents, families and children.
2. Have the ability to work independently.
3. Have the ability to work confidentially.
4. Provide office and administrative support for phones, equipment, filing, payments, childcare records, supplies, etc.
5. Assist in center tours in absence of Childcare Director and prepare tour packets.
6. Assisting in marketing.
7. Assist in monthly calendars, classroom rosters & newsletter.
8. Provide assistance in programs as needed in classrooms.
9. Assist in nutritional needs including menu planning, distribution of menus, ordering /shopping, etc.
10. Other Duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. High School Diploma and some college preferred.
- Must become certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
4. Good organizational, verbal, written, communication & presentation skills.
5. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business & finance software.
6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Must have excellent communication skills
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
3. Ability to visually inspect building condition, review promotional literature & materials, computer monitors, etc.
4. Must have ability to perceive audio & visual alerts for emergency purposes.
5. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
6. Must be able to access all areas of building & grounds including pool areas, closets, stairwells, locker rooms, wellness center, fields, hiking trails, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
