Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Record patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in electronic health records.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic or hospital setting.
- Perform coding for billing purposes and assist with medical administrative support tasks.
- Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care in a Level II Trauma Center environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in hospital medicine or dermatology is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
- Experience with coding practices is a plus.
- Previous experience providing medical administrative support is beneficial.
