Medical Transcriber

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Transcriptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical or behavioral health terminology, anatomy, and physiology, enabling them to accurately transcribe in person or by audio recordings into written documents. This role is essential in ensuring that medical and behavioral health records are precise and up-to-date, contributing to the overall efficiency of our medical office.

Duties

• Transcribe in person or audio recordings from healthcare professionals into clear and accurate written documentation.
• Ensure that all transcriptions adhere to established medical terminology and formatting standards.
• Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to clarify any unclear audio or terminology as needed.
• Stay updated on changes in medical terminology and transcription practices.

Experience

• Typing over 100 words per minute.
• Proficiency in typing with a high degree of accuracy is essential.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is highly desirable to enhance understanding of the content being transcribed.
• Familiarity with medical and behavioral health office operations and procedures is beneficial.
• Previous experience in a transcriptionist role or similar position is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
