Duties

- Provide mental health counseling and support for clients dealing with PTSD and other mental health challenges.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients in their recovery journey.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to assist clients in acute distress.
- Engage in research activities to stay informed about best practices in social work and mental health care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes.
- Advocate for clients’ needs within various systems, including healthcare, social services, and community resources.
Qualifications
- A degree in Social Work or a related field is required; licensure may be preferred or required depending on the position.
- Experience in patient assessment and mental health counseling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology as it relates to mental health treatment is an asset.
- Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
