In addition, proficiency in photography and emerging AI-driven tools for content creation is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will also have experience advancing video services and content strategy for similar organizations. This role will demand a blend of strategy, high-level project oversight and hands-on production skills for video to guide our production teams and external agency partners in creating content that resonates with our audience and supports our mission. This is a hybrid position in Minneapolis.
Hybrid work expectations for this role are that employees to be available to work at NMDP’s World Headquarters on an as needed basis, versus a mandated schedule. On-site work needs will vary based on projects, event coverage and team collaborations
Travel - As needed, this role requires availability for approximately 10% overnight travel both in and out of state (Est. 1-2 times per month

Accountabilities
Video Production Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing a forward-looking video roadmap, outlining the strategic direction, key initiatives and milestones for future video projects and objectives.
- Commitment to continuous evaluation and adjustment of the video roadmap, incorporating feedback, analytics and industry developments to adapt and refine the strategy over time.
- Execute and oversee video projects within the framework of the organization's established content strategy, ensuring all productions effectively support strategic objectives.
- Lead a small video production team, providing direction and support in all aspects of production, from storyboarding to pre-production planning to post-production editing.
- Work closely with the strategic planning team to understand the organization's goals and ensure video content aligns with these objectives.
- Manage and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and high-quality production values.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives, timelines and deliverables.
- Source and oversee external video production partners to ensure a wide range of video capabilities and services are available for NMDP project needs
- Collaborate with a team of content strategists, designers, and producers to create compelling video and photography content that meets business objectives of both enterprise and business line initiatives.
- Utilize and implement resources in business teams to assist in the execution of creative projects.
- Understand target audience needs and business objectives and translate them into creative concepts, strategies and tactics.
- Ensure high internal quality by defining and refining project assessment and completion process that includes adhering to creative briefs, originating creative ideas, managing project timelines, maintaining budgets and ensuring consistency of strategic branding.
- Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative content team.
- Present various stages of work product to the client and effectively respond to client requests or inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provides accurate creative delivery by applying consistent style and message across brand documents, understanding style and referencing usage, and applying appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Extensive experience in video production, with a Minimum of 7 years in video production, with at least 3 years in a senior production role, and minimum of 7 years managing creative projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in tailoring video content for a variety of social media channels (such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn), with knowledge of platform-specific best practices and trends.
- Demonstrated ability to work within strategic guidelines to produce video content that meets organizational objectives and engages target audiences, including medical providers and 18-24-year-old prospective blood stem cell donors.
- Proficiency in overseeing production workflows, budget management and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Experience working with external production companies.
- Strong leadership skills, with background in guiding production teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments to achieve project goals.
- The ability to convey complex information through compelling video narratives.
- Strong knowledge of Final Cut Pro X and the Adobe suite of production and editing tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition).
- Expert in design tools: Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of UX, website development and digital campaign strategy planning
- Knowledge of new marketing strategies, creative technologies and digital trends
- Human behavior and data-driven design approaches (i.e., why colors, layout, patterns appeal to a broad spectrum of audiences)
- Strong interpersonal skills working with a variety of individuals from different environmental and professional backgrounds
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, media production or related creative field. Education in Film, Media Production, Creative Production, Communications or a related field is highly regarded, along with continuous professional development in production and media management.
- Minimum of 7 years in video production, with at least 3 years in a senior production role, and minimum of 7 years managing creative projects.
- 1-2 years of experience leading and managing teams
- Ability to share and discuss a strong, professional portfolio showcasing a variety of video and creative projects, emphasizing work that aligns with strategic goals and messaging as part of the recruitment process.
- Experience working successfully with cross-functional partners. Experience with project management, awareness and/or engagement programs.
