NMPP Energy, located in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a Settlements Analyst to join our team. Use your skills, experience, and talents to ensure financial accuracy of invoiced energy activities in the energy markets, collaborate with personnel, using market data, to develop reports to mitigate risks, maximize market opportunities, and optimize generating assets.

The Settlements Analyst supports the mission of NMPP Energy by:
- Reviewing invoices for market settled activities/transactions for load and resources and short-term transmission; verifying that volumes, calculations, and other information is correct and balanced with internal records; researching and resolving discrepancies; preparing coding for invoices to enter into the accounting system.
- Creating reports and providing data to assist in analyzing market activities including generator financial performance.
- Gathering and verifying daily meter data; submitting verified meter data to applicable markets; confirming submittals were processed successfully.
- Compiling data needed for check out with counterparties including information for energy imbalance reports and monthly losses.
- Maintaining a data set of hourly resource data for proper financial reporting of regional transmission organization market transactions on the basis that the markets settle.
- Compiling settlement data and preparing support for monthly billing and recording into the accounting system.
- Verifying information on assigned counterparty invoices for activity settled outside the market is correct in accordance with contract terms and balances with internal records and researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Participating in applicable market settlement meetings with regional transmission organizations, industry organizations, outside vendors and other counterparties and incorporating market changes to company process.
Skills & Qualifications You Need
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically strong Excel skills, and Internet-based applications.
- Ability to use and develop spreadsheets that include complex formulas and macros
- Ability to interpret and analyze data to extract meaningful insights that support informed decision-making
- Knowledge of databases and energy tagging system/software desired.
- Knowledge of the electric industry and energy markets preferred.
- Math skills and proficiency with numbers.
- Ability to handle large amounts of data.
- Demonstrated attention to details.
