About the Role
We seek an individual who can efficiently manage export/import operational tasks, ensuring optimal performance at the branch office. This role involves coordinating customer needs with Sales and the Branch Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop air and ocean bills of lading and relevant export documentation to guarantee export-ready freight.
- Arrange for the collection of customers' freight with trucking companies.
- Conduct TSA safety checks on received freight, labeling it for export.
- Book export shipments with air and ocean carriers.
- Monitor consolidation processes closely.
- Review procedures and implement TSA safety regulations as prescribed by the Head Office.
- Retrieve import documentation from airlines.
- Verify Transport documents related to immediate imports for US Customs.
- Work with outside Customs Brokers to facilitate timely import freight clearance.
- Negotiate with NNR Japan and other international partners.
- Supply customers with quotations when sales staff are unavailable.
- Provide market research assistance to sales staff.
- Develop detailed proposals for sales staff, conducting phone-based sales to potential clients.
- Assist sales staff with correspondence, faxing, and other tasks.
- Reconnect with inactive customers to discuss shipping status.
- Inform import customers about the arrival of their goods.
- Collaborate on collections of overdue accounts.
- Update airline rates in sales department records.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with customers through post-sale interactions, provide flight details, maintain and review Letters of Credit, and address any complaints.
- Manage and update customer files.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
