Our company is looking for a high-quality Safety Specialist to ensure the safety and well-being of our Participants. The successful candidate has effective communication skills and prior experience in the Safety and Security environment. They will work closely with other staff and have the ability to be mindful of the differences our program participants have in relation to other individuals. A proactive Safety Specialist will report any issues or hazards they observe or experience to the Director, and will be responsible for adhering to changes in policies or safety practices. This is a dynamic work environment, being able to exhibit a highly functioning ability to deal with multiple different situations and being adaptable is a must. Being amenable to doing some tasks outside of the scope of the job description that will help promote a better work environment is a plus. The safety of everyone at our organization is what we need to ensure, this includes program participants and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all staff and program participants.
• Ensure proper procedures for emergencies are followed.
• Maintain the safety and security of the program grounds.
• Keep documentation of any situation outside the ordinary.
• Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or by obtaining assistance from paramedics when needed.
• Screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Circulate among property, participants, or staff to preserve order and protect property.
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and rooms.
• Monitor entrance and departure of program participants, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Make reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

• Must-Have: Guard Card, CPR and First Aid Certifications, TB Test Required, Driver's License, Communication skills,

Work Shift

This position's hours are as follows:

Flexibility of Availability is a must

Weekday Shifts are evening and graveyard

Weekend Shifts vary, Needed are day shifts, evening, and graveyard

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Security: 1 year (Preferred)
