What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Finance Manager position at No7 Beauty Company?
The Senior Finance Manager will report to the Director of Finance, and act as the key strategic business partner to marketing, sales, supply chain, and other key functions to drive profitable growth of the No7 brands. Leveraging finance systems and analysis tools and fostering a data driven analytical approach, this role will transform data into actionable insights that improve financial and operating performance. To do this the Senior Finance Manager will effectively and persuasively communicate analyses and recommendation to all levels of management. This role requires significant accuracy and attention to detail as well as creative problem-solving abilities. In summary, the individual will play a key role in driving the growth agenda of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Commercial teams on financial implications of new and ‘changes to’ existing commercial arrangements, including pricing structure, trade strategy and promotional activities – all in collaboration with other cross functional partners.
- Lead portfolio/customer mix financial analysis and develop strategies to improve business performance across all P&L line items.
- Drive a cultural focus for return on investment on marketing spend. Leverage internally developed consumer analytics, econometric learnings, and post campaign performance data to track and monitor marketing spend effectiveness.
- Lead the financial evaluations of New Product Development (NPD) throughout various stages of the innovation lifecycle including post launch, working closely with Commercial and Marketing to understand business model and financial implications. Support and challenge (if necessary) category and rate-of-sale assumptions in analyzing and implementing business growth opportunities.
- Lead & participate in ad hoc strategic projects, process improvement initiatives and special requests, working with a “continuous improvement” mind-set
- Work closely with business partners to provide analysis to improve sales forecasting, drive top line margin through COGS and Trade analysis.
- Participate in Key processes: S&OP and Demand Consensus, 3 Year plan, Forecasting/Budget Plans, SKU Rationalization, and optimization of obsolescence.
- Work collaboratively with global finance team and Walgreens finance as required.
A bit about you:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, MBA/CPA preferred
- 5 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility; preferably in the Consumer-Packaged Goods or Beauty Industries
- Proactive agent of change, who is adept at building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across all levels in the business
- Resilient and flexible, with the ability to cope with a changing, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks through managing stakeholders, priorities and workload.
- Flexibility to not only synthesize data across different sources but utilize data and reporting to influence and drive commercial agenda and execute at a high capacity in a highly dynamic function
- Very proficient in Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and pivot tables in order to manipulate large amounts of data and build ad hoc Excel based tracking and forecasting models and templates
- Knowledge of IBM Planning Analytics and SAP would be beneficial
- Positive, collaborative attitude; a self-starter eager to make their mark on the business
