What are the responsibilities and job description for the Edibles Specialist position at Noa Botanicals LLC?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Edibles Specialist will execute a variety of laboratory and manufacturing tasks under the direction and supervision of our Edibles Manager. They will be responsible for assisting in product processing and formulation. They complete tasks assigned by the Edibles Manager to operate lab equipment, monitor, and maintain cleanliness and efficiency, and drive quality control while always being compliant. This individual must be able to multitask, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to changing priorities and tasks as needed. We have a very fast-paced environment as we continue to grow and expand. This candidate must be motivated, trustworthy, and able to operate both independently and within a team environment.
Local applicants are preferred; relocation assistance will not be provided.
Core Job Duties (includes but not limited to):
- Support the development of edible products under the guidance of the Edibles Manager
- Assist in recipe tasting, flavor profiling, and the exploration of different ingredients
- Learn and assist in quality control procedures and help in maintaining records of quality control measure and observations
- Learn proper ingredient preparation techniques and safety protocols
- Assist in sourcing and handling ingredients for edibles products
- Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols in the production environment
- Take initiative in learning new skills and contributing to the overall success of the team
- Learn and follow good manufacturing practices and other relevant standards
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Core Competencies:
- Working knowledge of State of Hawai’i laws, regulations, and rules related to medical marijuana
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and challenging environment?
- Ability to work well, individually and in teams, with a diverse group of people. Must have excellent people skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, follow guidelines and perform with consistency
Education & Background Requirements:
- Must have valid, unexpired, driver’s license
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
- Minimum of 21 years of age as required by state statute
- Must have DOH clearance and Fingerprinting, per applicable requirements set forth under state statute
- High School Diploma or GED required?
- 2-3 years of Lab experience (or applicable field) preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push & pull 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance)
- Ability to sit, squat, bend & kneel repetitively throughout and 8–10-hour workday
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must have reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Work Schedule: Varies; Monday - Friday; 7a – 4p (weekends & holidays as needed)
Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full-time
Starting Pay: $17/Hr.
