As Sr Staff Electrical Engineer, this individual will not only design complex PCBAs but also propose the overall electrical architecture and selecting key electrical components to ensure optimal system performance. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical components. They will also ensure compliance with medical standards such as IEC 60601 & ISO 13485, focusing on electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
A Day In The Life Of Our Sr Staff Electrical Engineer:
- Design the electrical architecture for the next generation endoluminal robotic platform to support multiple clinical indications, focusing on high-speed analog and digital design, high-speed data cabling, high voltage power architecture, embedded system design, FPGA, and motor controllers
- Design, build, and test the robotic controller boards in collaboration with the robotic controls software engineering team
- Own the specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematics, layout, prototype, validation, and manufacturing of PCBA’s
- Thoroughly document design requirements, power budgets, and validation plans
- Design for manufacturing, design for test and design for EMC/EMI
- Work with senior technical leads from mechanical engineering, robotics controls software engineering, and other groups to bring novel medical robotic systems to market
About You:
- BS in Electrical Engineering. MS/PhD degree preferred
- Must have demonstrated ability to build complex electrical systems for medical devices.
- Expert in electrical CAD tools and PCBA design workflow. Altium experience required.
- Experience in the following areas: high-speed analog and digital design, embedded system design, FPGA, and motor controllers
- Experience with Ethercat protocol
- Extensive experience using oscilloscope, DMM, spectrum analyzer, LCR/network analyzer, and soldering equipment
- Familiar with embedded design and development in C/C preferred
