The User Experience Design Lead will work with cross-functional teams to design world class physical and digital interfaces of groundbreaking products. This role will help shape the future of medical robotics and will be responsible for making pioneering decisions in the field of human-computer interaction.A Day In The Life Of Our UX Design Lead Lead UX Design of all software interfaces, across products.Establish best practices for our design system for usability and performance.Manage team of UX designers, UI designers, graphic designers and creative contributors.Evangelize UX best practices within the company, across all products and interfaces.Mentor other designers and help elevate the quality and usability of our team output to drive performance across key business and product metrics.Design world class physical and digital user interfaces and user experiences.Collaborate with other team members to produce beautiful and functional interfaces.Manage and build positive relationships across disciplines with designers, developers and product teams.Propose and create a clear and compelling design system with sound rationale addressing identified opportunities.Create sketches, wireframes, high fidelity comps, prototypes, and written documentation, using modern design and prototyping tools.Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Clinical Engineering teams throughout the product management process to ensure your designs are safe, effective, and feasible.Document, maintain and share your project plans to ensure proper coordination with cross-functional partners.Participate in discovery and research activities to develop and apply a strong understanding of end-users and the problem space.Balance prioritized trade-offs that consider user, product, engineering and business needs as you iterate quickly through various designs to narrow the solution space.Think systemically to create holistic design solutions that reinforce and contribute to the interaction design language of the product.Ability to formulate and execute on particular brand language across products and medium (product, web, mobile, etc.).Participate in the validation of product usability through informal and formal testing with representative users in lab and clinical settings.Write clear, comprehensive and detailed user interface specifications for others to build and test against.Work with cross-functional product rollout teams to prepare products for US and worldwide launches.Establish narratives and interaction paradigms that guide users through critical experiences.About You Minimum 5 years of experience in product design (in-house, agency, or freelance) and at least 3 years of experience with medical robotics or medical devices.Experience driving decisions and building consensus around key product features with cross-functional groups.Strong desire to grow into a Director or Executive Design role preferred.You can present and articulate the vision in a purposeful and thoughtful way, have an eye for detail, and an excellent sense of aesthetics and functionality.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design, human sciences (e.g., Cognitive Science, Psychology, Human Factors, Symbolic Systems), information science, engineering or computer science.Proven record of bringing products to market that contain complex user interactions, especially products with physical interactions that are not solely web or software-based.Proficiency in the use of current design tools and software applications with strong prototyping experience, familiarity with Figma and Blend for Visual Studio preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite required.Experience working in the medical industry and / or healthcare preferred.Strong product sense and experience working in user-centric product orgs.Expertise in a broad range of graphic design skills, including interaction design, visual design, branding, UX research, and more.Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates the above.Understanding the fundamentals of robotics is preferred.Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.Demonstrated ability to solve challenging user needs through creative interaction design.Salary : $140,000 - $210,000 a year. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and / or geographic location.
