GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Case Manager Aide will provide administrative assistance for the case management services for the unaccompanied children (UC) referred by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). This is a Full-time 40 hours week positions and requires one weekend day.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide administrative or clerical support to the Case Managers
2. Ensure all case management documentation is filed correctly
3. Assist the Case Managers with phone calls to UC sponsors
4. Prepare appropriate documents and mail to sponsors
5. Schedule meetings
6. Travel (i.e., driving or flying) with UC to ensure safe and timely release to sponsor
QUALIFICATIONS:The Case Manager Aide is required to have a high school diploma and one to three years of relevant administrative assistance experience, preferably in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) required.
The Case Manager Aide is required to be able to operate a personal computer with proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365, web-based platforms, and Adobe PDF. Must pass a national background check conducted by fingerprints, a state police background check, a CT DCF protective service background check, a motor vehicle check, and provide proof of physical and negative PPD results. If the applicant has resided in another state in the last 5 years background checks must be conducted and passed in those states as well. In addition, the Case Manager Aide will need to undergo an enhanced background check through the Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) after hire. A successful determination of suitability is required to continue in this position.
