Position Summary:
A member of our sales team is an independent self-starter who loves the challenge of exceeding expectations and has a proven track record of sales management in the catering or events industry. This position is responsible for the sales of memorable, high-quality catering events. This includes working with the team to take Noble Catering to new heights in terms of client expectations and profit maximization.
Job Description:
- Prospect, solicit, promote, contract, and follow up with client inquiries for contracted functions as well as look for new business in the assigned market(s).
- Manage business on the books successfully and work pipeline of inquiries, prospects, tentative, and definite bookings.
- Work with the Sales, Events and Marketing teams on growth strategy and annual marketing plans specific to publications, website, and social media development for the assigned market(s).
- Foster relationships with event venues, event planners, convention teams, community organizations, as appropriate for assigned market(s).
- Direct and participate in trade shows, client events, and represent the company at local/regional networking events.
- Drive customer/guest loyalty by delivering service excellence through the experience.
- Required to maintain or exceed budgeted booking and revenue, reviewed on a monthly and annual basis.
- Required to complete solicitation goals, as directed, reviewed weekly and monthly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and preferred skills:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience; preferred in either sales and event management in off premise catering, high-quality hotel with banquet operations, resort, hospitality venue, private club or F&B Industry.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings based on client needs.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills, along with an unsurpassed focus on detail.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and/or Marketing is preferred, but not required.
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is committed to high levels of service and quality.
- High-energy, engaging, and passionate leader who maintains a strong problem-solving mentality and sound business judgement.
- Working knowledge of Goodshuffle, Zoho and/or Toast is preferred
