Job Summary
The Electrical Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of personnel and rig operations. This position is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and testing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of high voltage plant to ensure compliance with preventive maintenance management system and safe working practices.
- Inform the Technical Section Leader of any hazardous conditions or operability issues with electrical installations or equipment and participate in rectification efforts.
- Maintain knowledge of legislation related to working environment and safety, as well as Noble's safety and environmental policy, and apply it in daily work onboard.
- Supervise new installations and modifications of existing installations in accordance with applicable electrical standards.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Keep the Technical Section Leader and OIM informed of operational status of all electrical and electronic systems onboard.
- Stay up-to-date on new rules and regulations pertaining to area of responsibility, particularly high voltage and hazardous area rules.
- Assist in keeping all electrical drawings and records up-to-date.
- SPECIFY spares required for stock within electrical responsibility area.
- Conduct section safety meetings, encouraging staff to bring forward concerns and ideas.
- Conduct pre-job meetings prior to commencement of special activities.
- Verify cybersecurity controls.
- Plan and coordinate cybersecurity incident response exercises.
- Plan and coordinate cybersecurity awareness sessions.
- Perform external and internal cybersecurity audits.
- Execute duties safely, securely, and efficiently in accordance with management system, instructions, and training within Noble.
Authority
When responsibility is allocated, matching authority is also granted unless otherwise stated. Stop any operation deemed unsafe to continue.
Documentation and Record Responsibilities
- Ensure Test Records for High Voltage Plant and onboard electrical and electronic equipment are correctly recorded.
- Work Permits and Safe Job Analysis.
- Non-conformance (Deviation) Reports.
- Update IFS system and equipment breakdown records.
- Shift and crew change hand over notes.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience on offshore drilling units.
- Training according to training matrix.
- Valid STCW Security Awareness certificate.
- Certified in supervising and conducting work on high voltage power plants.
- Certified Industrial or Marine Electrician.
- Conversant with rules and regulations for electrical equipment.
- Experienced with computerized maintenance management system (IFS).
- Good verbal and written English skills.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Technical Section Leader, Maintenance Engineer on day shift, Electricians and Electronics Technicians.
Requisitioning Authority
Determined by job grade as per corporate guidelines. Please refer to Maersk Drilling Authority Matrix on intranet.
