Description
Summary: Under minimal supervision, assists with day-to-day operations and performs a wide variety of support and administrative activities in Human Resources related functions, including benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, recruiting, leaves of absences and other related areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Stay informed about and provide constructive input for human resources policies, procedures and initiatives.
Interpret and explain human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations to employees and managers as needed
Responsible for three or more of the following Human Resources core functions:
Payroll
- Review time cards for compliance and make appropriate personnel changes in the payroll system for payroll processing
- Process bi-weekly payrolls and other special payrolls as needed
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports
- Prepare payroll imports
Benefits Administration
- Assists with the day-to-day administration of all benefit programs
- Manage timely benefits enrollment and audit benefits billing
- Conduct benefit meetings and assists with open enrollment activities
- Maintain accurate and complete benefits information in HRIS
- Assist with the planning and coordination of credit union wellness program
- Assist in the administration of leaves of absence
Recruiting
- Coordinate and maintain personnel requisitions and recruitment activities
- Process employment applications and resumes
- Interview employment applicants and makes recommendations for employment
- Administer pre-employment assessments
- Explain the pre-employment investigation procedures/process required by the credit union to prospective employees and complete such verifications.
- Responsible for onboarding new employees, including conducting new hire orientations and scheduling training
Records Management
- Ensure accurate data is maintained in the HRIS
- Prepare and maintain a wide variety of personnel files, records, and information and responsible for accurate record keeping of these files
- Conduct employment verifications
- Update employee files to document personnel changes/actions including but not limited to, personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, and performance
- Processes departmental forms, records, documents including performance appraisals/evaluations, new hires, and terminations
- Examine employee files and records to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons
- Compile, and verify a wide variety of reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual required reporting
- Process all incoming paperwork, forms, and mail and distribute accordingly; and/or enter into HRIS and/or files appropriately
- Gather information for reporting and analyzing
Employee Relations
- Assist in maintaining standard processes for all locations
- Respond to initial inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs, and includes management as needed
- Handle employee relations counseling, including exit interviews
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with all credit union employees
- Deliver exceptional customer service to employees, potential employees, and vendors
Assist with special projects and prepare special reports as requested.
Support the administration of company-wide performance appraisal cycle through performance management software.
Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Exercise awareness in regards to suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior as it relates to cash transactions and overall transaction activity and document any such behavior so SAR filings can be considered.
Ensure compliance with all safety, security and compliance programs including but not limited to BSA, AML, OFAC, Branch Security and Safety.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two to four years of demonstrated experience with two or more HR functions; or equivalent combination of education, experience or training. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
Salary : $27 - $41
