What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Grade 8) English Writing Teacher position at Noble High School?
Noble High School is seeking a collaborative, dynamic educator to join our school. This position would be a member of a heterogeneous grouped grade 8 team of approximately 100-110 students teaching English / Language Arts. We are looking for a candidate that enjoys working with grade 8 students and helping them to improve their English skills as well as grow as both a person and a student. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Math, Reading, Science and Social Studies, and Special Education teachers on their team to ensure that the students are getting what is needed.

Noble High School is located in North Berwick, Maine, and serves the communities of Berwick, North Berwick, and Lebanon. Noble is an 8-12 school with 1200 students housed in two heterogeneously grouped academies made up of grade-level teams and houses. We are a member of the New England Secondary School Consortium and the League of Innovative Schools. Our school features student-centered learning, multiple pathways to success, one-to-one technology, a Teacher/Student Leadership Team, a proficiency-based system of teaching and learning, multiple performance-based assessments, student-led conferences, and a final capstone called Senior Project.
Strong candidates will possess the knowledge, skills, and ideologies consistent with the philosophies and practices of standards and proficiency-based educational systems. A clear understanding of the connection between curriculum, instruction, and assessment is required.

Degree Preferred: Master’s Degree
Experience Preferred: Three years or more
Work Eligibility: Citizenship, residency, or work VISA required
Additional Requirements: Maine high school English teacher certification. CHRC or ability to obtain.
