Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties:

  • Provides maintenance support in all general building areas. Kitchen, laundry, general areas, etc.
  • Work closely with the Supervisor to develop preventative maintenance programs and procedures to reduce mechanical downtime.
  • Maintain communications, oral and written, with the maintenance/production team ensuring smooth shift transitions and accurately preparing work orders for equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipment and new equipment installations.
  • Proactive and accurate reporting of equipment breakage, maintenance requirements, and errors.
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. Respond to pertinent needs as they occur.
  • Updating and completing the required work order documentation of performed maintenance, labor hours, and parts used.
  • Basic computer skills to be able to update and run or revise reports.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in an efficient manner while understanding the urgency needed to complete tasks that interrupt operations.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
  • Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features.
  • As applicable refer to blueprints and manufacturer’s manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and common areas.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with other departments and co-workers.
  • Promote and maintain a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Follows and ensures adherence to established local, state, and federal regulations and requirements as well as safety, food safety, sanitation, food production, and nutritional guidelines.
  • Other duties as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, automation controls, and machinery.
  • Strong electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and the ability to read electrical schematics is a plus.
  • Self-motivated,detail oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Able to evaluate a situation and make good decisions.
  • Able to work well with a team and individually.
  • Able to take directions as needed from management.
  • Must have a valid CA driver's license without restrictions.
