Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Duties:
- Provides maintenance support in all general building areas. Kitchen, laundry, general areas, etc.
- Work closely with the Supervisor to develop preventative maintenance programs and procedures to reduce mechanical downtime.
- Maintain communications, oral and written, with the maintenance/production team ensuring smooth shift transitions and accurately preparing work orders for equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipment and new equipment installations.
- Proactive and accurate reporting of equipment breakage, maintenance requirements, and errors.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. Respond to pertinent needs as they occur.
- Updating and completing the required work order documentation of performed maintenance, labor hours, and parts used.
- Basic computer skills to be able to update and run or revise reports.
- Able to prioritize tasks in an efficient manner while understanding the urgency needed to complete tasks that interrupt operations.
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
- Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features.
- As applicable refer to blueprints and manufacturer’s manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and common areas.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with other departments and co-workers.
- Promote and maintain a positive and respectful work environment.
- Follows and ensures adherence to established local, state, and federal regulations and requirements as well as safety, food safety, sanitation, food production, and nutritional guidelines.
- Other duties as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, automation controls, and machinery.
- Strong electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and the ability to read electrical schematics is a plus.
- Self-motivated,detail oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
- Demonstrated work history.
- Able to evaluate a situation and make good decisions.
- Able to work well with a team and individually.
- Able to take directions as needed from management.
- Must have a valid CA driver's license without restrictions.
