A day in the life...
As the Staff Accountant, you will manage daily processes of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, and general ledger.

A day in the life...
As the Staff Accountant, you will manage daily processes of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, and general ledger.
To be successful in the Staff Accountant position, you:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
- Maintain a positive attitude and respectful communication with guests and coworkers.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Maintain complete knowledge of property management system and manual procedures.
- Maintain complete knowledge of accounts payable system.
- Schedule and lead monthly credit meetings and maintain collection log.
- Process Income Journal in a timely manner.
- Reconcile cash, credit cards and comps/ promos in a timely manner (cash/ credit card reconciliations due by end of each business day, comps/ promos reconciliation due weekly).
- Chargeback rebuttals to be submitted within two business days from the date of notification and chargeback log must be updated accordingly.
- AP transactions to be cleared per bank statement within two business days.
- Cash, credit cards, wire and checks to be cleared per bank statement within two business days.
- Prepare cash and credit card deposit in transit entry
- Assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare for review sales and occupancy tax reconciliations two business days prior to deadline outlined in the Florida eServices Calendar of Electronic Payment Deadlines (attached). Submit sales and occupancy tax returns by deadline noted in the Florida eServices Calendar of Electronic Payment Deadlines.
- Monthly AR Billing
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collections.
- Ensure group folios are closed within 72 hours of group departure with no open balances.
- Coordinate with Sales and Front Desk to ensure proper documentation and communication for Group billing purposes.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and reconciliations
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Requirements are representative of the minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Remain stationary and mobile position for 8 hours throughout the work shift.
