First and foremost, this is a kava bar we are talking about. So, the whole idea is fun and relaxation. For us on this side of the bar though, it is still work. It is serious business. Matter-a-fact, our patrons having a good time, pleasant and welcoming environment, with good people is actually what our business is. We are passionate about kava and what we are doing here, but even more than that we are passionate about people!

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Barback to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced non-alcohol bar environment. The Barback plays a crucial role in supporting bartenders and ensuring that the bar operates smoothly. This position requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for either people or the kava industry. The ideal candidate will thrive in a lively atmosphere while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, communication, and organization.

Duties

• Promoting a good vibe with your presence and positivity.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
• Assist bartenders by restocking supplies, including kavas, teas, kegs, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.
• Keg jockey skills like :Ensuring the gas on taps are correct, filling kegs, and swapping them.
• Regularly checking in with the bartender to help with immediate needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces.
• Support food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring timely service to guests.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless service during busy shifts.
• Help set up for events or special occasions within the nightclub or catering services.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all food handling and preparation activities.

Experience

• Previous experience in a nightclub, cafe, fast paced environment, or busy restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen operations is a plus.
• Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with bartenders and other staff members.
• A passion for the kava industry, or people, and a willingness to learn new skills will be highly valued.

Barback Pay will be an hourly rate plus 20% tipout from the shift they assisted.

The Barback Position can grow or develop into a Bartending Position also.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
