Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in carpentry work, a solid understanding of construction principles, proficiency in using a variety of power tools, and experience in concrete carpentry. This position involves working on various projects, from construction and renovation to custom woodwork and concrete formwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, frames, flooring, and trim.
- Construct, repair, and install building frameworks and structures, including walls, stairways, partitions, and rafters.
- Build and set forms for pouring concrete, ensuring precise alignment and stability.
- Work with concrete to create foundations, slabs, columns, and other structures.
- Utilize a wide range of power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and general contractors.
- Follow building plans and instructions from supervisors.
- Ensure projects are completed accurately, safely, and within designated timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise during the construction process.
- Provide guidance and support to junior carpenters and apprentices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Experience in concrete carpentry, including formwork and finishing.
- Proficient in using power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, methods of installation and construction, and basic math.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Strong physical condition and stamina, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Certification in carpentry or a related field is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with the potential for overtime based on project demands.
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
