Facilities Assistant Summary:
The position is primarily responsible for the basic maintenance and upkeep of church and preschool buildings. Event setup and teardown for Church and Preschool events. Some weekend and on-call work may be required.

Noblesville First United Methodist Church is a large church based in Noblesville, Indiana. Our church is also the home of Noblesville Methodist Preschool.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance and upkeep of church facility and preschool
General repair work: painting, minor plumbing and electrical; light bulb and fixture replacement
Moving of tables and chairs and other office furniture
Installation or hanging of decorations, banners and outdoor advertising
Monitor cleanliness of facilities, some cleaning required
Monitor equipment, furniture, and supply status/condition
Monitor supply of paper goods for restroom supplies
Basic upkeep of dishwasher and disposal in the kitchen and occasional cleaning of refrigerators, etc.
Other tasks as assigned

· Must be energetic and take pride in meeting the needs and missions of the church and its congregation, preschool, staff and visitors
· Physically capable of performing activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, bending, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling of materials
· Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials
· Must be comfortable with and able to work from elevated heights on ladders, lifts, roofs, and scaffolding
· Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more)
· Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting/carrying of equipment weighing up to approximately 100 pounds
· Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals
· Ability to deal with critical issues, possibly during times of disruptions,
· Must be able to maintain control under pressure
The qualifications of the Maintenance Technician are as follows:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required
· Must have valid Indiana driver’s license
· A minimum of 1 year of related experience
· Strong knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing plumbing and electrical
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to multitask and stay organized and meet deadlines
Work Schedule:
Employee will be required to work up to 40 hours per week, or as many hours as it may take to perform above job duties. Schedule may include evenings and weekends at the discretion of the supervisor. Schedule may vary based on event demands and may require a combination of day and evening hours as well as work performed after shift hours and/or weekends if necessary. Able to be on-call for responding to after-hours emergencies.
Workdays and the week leading up to Easter, Christmas, large events like Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat and church Bags Baskets and Blessings, should be considered unavailable for personal vacation.
