Responsibilities
Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are looking to hire a Data Scientist to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy. You will utilize expertise in statistics, machine learning, and data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data and develop predictive models and actionable insights. Typical responsibilities include collecting and cleaning data from various sources, performing exploratory data analysis to understand data characteristics and relationships, and applying statistical and machine learning algorithms to analyze data and extract insights and technical assistance in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
The Data Scientist will support the Logistics Department and will be responsible for:
- Participate in customer technical meetings
- Attend all internal management meetings to update status
- Programming using Python, SQL, Matlab, Linux, C/C
- Use Machine learning, Physics-based models, Predictive maintenance, Power trading, Product & Software development, Vibration analysis, Edge computing
This can be a hybrid position with occasional trips to Philadelphia, PA.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or Master's degree and 3 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Matlab, Linux, C/C
- Background with AWS, H2O, Matplotlib, NumPy, Pandas, PGMpy, Scikit-learn, SciPy, XGBoost, SolidWorks, ANSYS, LabVIEW
- US Citizen and an active Secret Clearance

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
