Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor – Lead, Maintain, and Make a Difference!

As our Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our shelter safe, functional, and welcoming for both people and animals. You’ll lead a team, oversee facility operations, and ensure that everything from HVAC to security systems runs smoothly.
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) – generally Sunday – Thursday, 8 AM – 5 PM (Flexibility & occasional emergency response required)

What You’ll Do:
- Lead & Supervise – Oversee custodians, contractors, and volunteers, ensuring top-quality work and professional development.
- Hands-On Maintenance – Perform and coordinate repairs, from electrical and plumbing to HVAC and landscaping.
- Facility Operations – Manage security, fire safety, and access control systems while keeping detailed records of maintenance schedules.
- Emergency Response – Be ready to tackle urgent facility needs and keep operations running seamlessly.
- Team Collaboration – Work closely with staff, vendors, and leadership to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant workplace.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: Associate’s degree in a relevant field OR equivalent professional experience. Technical certifications are a plus!
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in facility maintenance, building operations, or a related role in a commercial setting.
- Leadership: Prior experience supervising employees, volunteers, or contractors.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance.
- Project Management: Ability to oversee vendors, maintenance schedules, and facility improvements.
- Tech-Savvy: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with electronic control panels (security, lighting, HVAC) is a plus.
- Bonus Skills: Knowledge of OSHA regulations, fire safety systems, and radiant floor heating is highly valued.
