Responsibilities:
Managing RN's, LPN's, CMT, and CNA's (nursing staff): You oversee the nursing department, ensuring adequate staffing levels (did we mention you have a workforce director doing your staffing for you?), training, and development of nursing personnel.
Care coordination: You coordinate and supervise the delivery of patient care, ensuring that it aligns with established standards and meets the individual needs of residents.
Quality assurance: You implement and monitor quality assurance programs to assess and improve the quality of care provided by the nursing staff.
Regulatory compliance: You ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, such as those set by government agencies and accrediting bodies.
Budgeting and resource management: You collaborate with the Administrator to manage the nursing department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Interdisciplinary collaboration: You work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, pharmacy, labs, and the facility's management team, to provide comprehensive care and achieve optimal resident outcomes.
Staff development and training: You support the professional growth of nursing staff through ongoing education, training programs, and performance evaluations.
Overall, your role as a Director of Nurses involves overseeing the nursing department's operations, promoting high-quality care, and ensuring compliance with regulations while fostering a positive work environment for the staff.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year as Director of Nursing in a skilled setting or 3-5 years as Assistant Director of Nursing in a skilled setting.
