What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Associate position at NOF Metal Coatings North America Inc.?
General Summary of Position :
The Shipping and Receiving Associate verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify product lot number information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Support manufacturing and update weekly inventory reports.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities :
- Schedules, coordinates, and generates the proper documentation for all domestic and international shipments
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
- Accurately generate and file all shipping documentation including Bill of Lading, Packing Lists, Customer Orders, Transfer Orders, Vendor Shipment Returns, and Parcel Package Documents
- Ships and receives materials and equipment to support production and verify receipts in related computer systems
- Load and unload trucks to inventory and racking as applicable "Material Handling" (e.g. finished goods, raw materials, scrap, packaging supplies, etc.)
- Work with carriers to ensure on time delivery and meet customer expectations
- Follow internal procedures for shipping and receiving of all orders
- Assist Production Manager and Shipping and Receiving Lead with departmental process improvements
- Inspect incoming and outgoing material for damage, verify quantity, and tag appropriately
- Route incoming materials to the proper storage area
- Utilize company's dedicated ERP system to track, manage and control all inbound / outbound activities
- Assists with Cycle counts and Physical Inventory.
- Other job duties as assigned
