We are seeking best and brightest associates to join our team. Our brand is rooted in good vibes, nostalgia and culture, and we prioritize unique high-quality candle making experiences, and premium soy wax wooden wick candles.
Our Candle Bar is an extension of our brand, and provides guests with the opportunity to craft their own custom fragrances. Guests to come into our studio to gather for birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, team building and more. We also offer private candle pouring sessions and offsite sessions.
We are looking for an engaging, customer-focused Candle Bar Instructor to lead candle-pouring workshops and provide general support in our retail space. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys teaching, loves candles, and thrives in a social, hands-on environment. Instructors will guide guests through our signature candle-making experience while ensuring an unforgettable and interactive session. When not leading classes, you’ll assist with retail operations, customer service, and shop maintenance.
A typical session can include anywhere from 1 - 30 guests in our shop, and 5-100 guests offsite.
Candle making experience is not a must, but a plus. On the job training is provided.
Responsibilities
Workshop Instruction
- Lead candle-making experiences, ensuring guests feel welcome and engaged.
- Educate participants on candle-making techniques, fragrance blending, and safety procedures.
- Share the Noir Lux story and foster a fun, interactive atmosphere.
- Assist guests with scent selection, vessel choices, and pouring guidance.
- Maintain a smooth flow of the class and manage time effectively.
Retail & Customer Support
- Greet and assist customers in the shop, providing product recommendations and answering questions.
- Process transactions, including workshop check-ins, retail sales, and special orders.
- Restock and organize merchandise, including candles, accessories, and gift items.
- Assist with packaging and labeling candles post-workshop.
Shop Maintenance & Operations
- Set up and clean up workshop stations before and after each session.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are in good condition.
- Follow safety and cleanliness standards to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Support special events, private parties, and collaborations as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Outgoing, friendly, and comfortable speaking in front of groups.
- Passion for candles, home fragrance, or DIY experiences.
- Previous experience in teaching, customer service, retail, or hospitality is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and manage small group dynamics effectively.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
