Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive Shop Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and enhance customer experiences at Noir Lux Candle Bar. This role is ideal for someone with leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or experiential businesses who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Shop Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, optimizing workflow, and driving business growth through exceptional service and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations & Management
- Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and product displays.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking merchandise and workshop supplies.
- Track sales trends, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement strategies for growth.
- Ensure all shop equipment and candle-making materials are properly maintained.
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Hire, train, and supervise shop associates and candle instructors.
- Develop staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for retail hours and workshops.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that aligns with Noir Lux’s mission and values.
- Conduct team meetings and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Customer Experience & Workshop Oversight
- Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service.
- Assist with candle-pouring workshops as needed and ensure all instructors follow best practices.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and any escalated concerns with professionalism.
- Support private events, corporate bookings, and special collaborations.
Sales & Marketing Support
- Work with the owner and marketing team to implement in-store promotions and seasonal campaigns.
- Encourage upselling and cross-selling opportunities through staff training and merchandising.
- Support community engagement efforts, partnerships, and local events.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 years of retail, hospitality, or small business management experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Experience managing staff, scheduling, and training.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management, and basic business reporting.
- Passion for candles, home fragrance, and hands-on creative experiences is a plus!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
