Job Summary
NOJO, a leader in infant and toddler bedding is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design principles and experience with various design software. The Designer will be responsible for producing designs for infant products.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design of infant licensed and non-licensed infant bedding, lifestyle and gifts
- Develop mood and trend boards inclusive of colors, materials, and fabrications for presentation
- Collaborate with product development teams to bring fresh, innovative designs to the market
- Stay updated on trends in infant textiles and decor to inspire and influence new collections
- Design and produce materials or product samples needed for sales presentations
- Create trend-forward designs incorporating colors, patterns, and fabrics
- Design product, calling out material and fabric specifications, ensuring product is designed to meet customer needs while adhering to design and development timelines
- Ensure products meet industry safety standards
- Follows through on designs from initial direction/inspiration to final sample
- Work closely with team to manage the licensed approvals process; partners closely with PD & Production partners
- Designs product in preparation for major milestone meetings including Design Review, Licensor reviews and Customer/Market Presentations
- Evaluates samples and alerts management to review
- Attends weekly Design team & PD team meetings
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design or Product Design
- 1-3 years of relevant industry experience designing and developing product
- Knowledge of current trends in the product and design industry
- Experience designing product for the children and Infant market
- Ability to translate trends into innovative design concepts
- Exceptional communication, time management & organizational skills
- Knowledge of materials, patterns, and techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively and take creative direction
- Attention to detail and a passion for design
- Exceptional Graphic Design Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of full cycle of design development process from concept to commercialization
