What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of EICS Engineering position at Nokia?
Job Description
You will be in charge of setting up and leading a strong engineering function that covers both Nokia's IT Public & Private Cloud environments as well as On-Premises compute infrastructure.
You will focus on our key technological pillars : Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Bare Metal and High Performance Computing, driving a strong Solution Architecture group and a dedicated Automation team, hosting Compliance functions.
Responsibilities
The role includes :
- Defining and owning the Solution Architecture
- Setting up the guardrails for the operations that will ensure reliability, performance, scalability and security of our IT computing environments allowing 24x7 business operations
- Closely collaborating with the Service & Operations team as well as our key suppliers who are ensuring the day to day operations
- Deploying an SRE mode of operation (Site Reliability Engineering)
- Implementing automation and orchestration tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of compute and Cloud services
- Ensuring application migrations to the Cloud
- Being a Level 3 support to the Service & Operations team for Critical Incident Management handling (24x7 escalation point)
- Assuring compliance to the relevant regulations and standards, including US National Security Agreement
- Leading a team of around 30 infrastructure engineers distributed in 3 sub-units, encouraging innovation - in particular through AI, collaboration, empowerment, people development
