Position Summary
The Data Analyst at NOLA Public Schools will play a crucial role in supporting the district’s financial oversight of Charter Management Organizations (CMOs) and charter schools. This position will be responsible for analyzing financial metrics, reviewing performance data, and supporting the Director of Financial Accountability in ensuring that charter schools meet the criteria set forth in the Charter School Accountability Framework (CSAF). The Data Analyst will also assist in submitting monthly reports on the fiscal health of charter schools in New Orleans, attend finance meetings at various CMOs, and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes that ensure the financial integrity of charter schools.
Salary Range
$50,400 - $78,735
\n- Review and analyze financial data in accordance with the Charter School Accountability Framework (CSAF), ensuring charter schools meet the financial criteria set forth in the framework
- Assist in preparing and submitting monthly reports on the fiscal health of each charter school, ensuring accurate, timely, and comprehensive financial analysis;
- Analyze and interpret financial data related to charter schools in New Orleans, focusing on key metrics such as revenue, expenditures, and financial sustainability;
- Identify trends, variances, and potential areas of concern in charter school financial data, providing actionable insights to the Director of Financial Accountability;
- Collaborate with the Director of Financial Accountability to track and monitor key financial metrics for all charter schools, ensuring they remain in compliance with CSAF standards;
- Develop and maintain tracking tools, dashboards, and databases for monitoring the financial health of charter schools across the city;
- Participate in data collection and analysis for financial audits or reviews of charter schools to ensure compliance with district policies, state laws, and financial best practices;
- Ensure data integrity and consistency in all financial reports and analyses, addressing any gaps or issues in the data collection or reporting process;
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or a related role, preferably in an educational or public sector environment.
- Experience working with financial data, metrics tracking, or financial reporting in a school district or charter school environment is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risks using data and trends.
- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis software, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and risk management software.
- Ability to attend and contribute to finance meetings with CMOs and charter schools.
Supervisor Responsibility
This position does not have direct reports
Salaries are determined by educational background and/or relevant years of experience.

Performance Evaluation
The employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods: via COMPASS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he/she will be evaluated via COMPASS to ensure renewal of certification.
