What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Manager/Barista position at Nola's Pantry?
The Cafe Manager/Barista supports the team members in directing the daily operations of the cafe/specialty food store in support of the Mission, Values and Culture while role modeling Nola's Pantry Standard of Excellence. The Cafe Manager/Barista assists in ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operations to include but not limited to: product preparation and delivery, customer service, facilities maintenance and financial accountability. This role accomplishes these objectives by actively training and coaching staff and running shifts to achieve key results in food preparation, staff and customers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the café, ensuring high standards of customer service and food safety.
- Train and manage staff, including baristas, to deliver exceptional coffee and food service.
- Operate POS systems, handle cash transactions, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items while adhering to health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role
- Strong knowledge of food and coffee preparation as well as food safety standards
- Proficiency in using Toast POS system or similar
- Excellent time management and sales skills
- Ability to handle cash and perform basic math calculations
- Familiarity with food preparation and handling in a café and retail environment
