Job Summary: As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining one or possibly two CNC machines. Experience with CNC machines in a production or manufacturing environment is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Measure each piece of glass to ensure correct sizing and fabrication of holes and notches as specified.
- Inspect glass for defects based on company quality standards.
- Stage glass for tempering and load the conveyor to achieve the highest possible yield.
- Transfer order tickets and sketches to the unload section of the furnace in an organized manner.
- Operation of the CNC machines.
- Conduct general maintenance and cleaning of the CNC machines.
- Follow work instructions, including reading labels, understanding paperwork, and ensuring proper product flow.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, ensuring safe operations.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance; ability to work overtime, including Saturdays, if needed.
- While the job vacancy is for a CNC operator, all employees are cross-trained on multiple stations and are expected to move around depending on the current needs that day.
Experience and Expertise:
- 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with a proven track record in CNC Machine Operation.
- Prior experience as a CNC Operator in a manufacturing environment (Glass processing preferred but not required).
- Strong understanding of production processes and CNC machine operations.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds unassisted and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Proficient in reading a tape measure, ruler, gauge, etc.
- Capacity to stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with regional climate conditions in a non-climate-controlled facility.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Glass experience is strongly preferred but not required
