Summary of Duties
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the materials management functions of all business lines in accordance with Organization’s policies and procedures and current applicable federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations.
Essential Job Functions
Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. College preferred.
Five years in purchasing, supply chain, project management, or related field required. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the materials management functions of all business lines in accordance with Organization’s policies and procedures and current applicable federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations.
Essential Job Functions
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct materials management activities, which include purchasing, receiving, inventory and distribution.
- Supervise purchase of medical supplies, office supplies, forms and equipment.
- Monitor and supervise the purchase order process.
- Interview sales representatives and select vendors/suppliers in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Develop methods for determining quality and quantity of supplies and equipment purchased to maintain par levels at facilities.
- Serve as equipment asset manager and maintain property, plant, and equipment records.
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to management as required.
- Monitors completion status of capital projects by working with facility management and Director of Plant Operations.
- Supervise and direct Materials Management department employee(s).
- Maintain and renew tax exempt certificates for all eligible locations.
- Maintain list of corporate vehicles/trailers and approved drivers for insurance purposes.
- Prepare and submit invitations to bid for major equipment. Recommend best bids to management.
- Review/negotiate contracts for outside services as necessary.
- Participate in the research and demonstration of new products/equipment for the operating units.
- Maintain a reference library of written material, laws, procurement manuals, etc., necessary for complying with current regulations, and that will provide assistance in purchasing quality supplies and equipment.
- Develop materials management policies and procedures. Review and revise annually and make recommended changes.
- Coordinate preparation of capital budget.
- Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.
