About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Attorney to join our growing team. If you are a talented attorney with a minimum of five (5) years experience in complex matrimonial and family law with strong litigation experience, a passion for high-stakes advocacy, and the desire to practice at the top of your field, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Handle all aspects of matrimonial and family law litigation from initial intake through trial and post-judgment proceedings
- Conduct thorough case assessments, develop litigation strategy, and provide ongoing legal analysis in high-net-worth and complex divorce matters
- Draft, file, and argue motions, including pendente lite motions, discovery motions, financial disclosure applications, and post-judgment enforcement or modification requests
- Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting demands and responses, conducting and defending depositions, and analyzing financial records and expert reports
- Prepare clients for court appearances, depositions, and forensic evaluations; provide candid legal advice and manage client expectations
- Represent clients in all court proceedings including preliminary and compliance conferences, settlement conferences, hearings, and trials in Supreme and Family Courts throughout New York
- Handle matters involving complex asset distribution, business valuations, executive compensation, equitable distribution, spousal maintenance, child custody and access, child support, relocation, and post-divorce modifications or enforcement
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, affidavits, statements of net worth, settlement agreements, and pre/post-trial submissions
- Provide high-touch, responsive client service, maintaining frequent and clear communication throughout the litigation process
- Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment
- Maintain accurate case documentation, meet deadlines, and ensure strict compliance with applicable court rules and ethical standards
Qualifications:
· At least 5 years of litigation experience in New York Divorce and Family Law
· Strong trial and courtroom experience
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to manage complex legal matters independently and efficiently
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Appellate experience is a plus
