About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented paralegal/legal assistant to join our growing team. If you are a talented paralegal/legal assistant with strong litigation experience, a passion for high-stakes advocacy, and the desire to practice at the top of your field, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Conduct initial client intake interviews and gather relevant information regarding the divorce case.
· Assist attorneys in drafting and e-filing divorce pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
· Manage and maintain client files, ensuring all documents are organized and up-to-date.
· Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to schedule hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
· Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents related to divorce and family law.
· Prepare discovery requests, responses, and manage document production for the disclosure of financial information and asset division.
· Assist in the preparation of settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other legal documents related to divorce negotiations.
· Coordinate with third-party experts, such as forensic accountants or child psychologists, as needed for the case.
· Assist in preparing for trials and hearings by organizing evidence, witness lists, and exhibits, as well as uploading them in Virtual Evidence Courtrooms (VECs)
· Attend court hearings and assist attorneys during proceedings by taking notes, managing exhibits, and providing administrative support.
· Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with clients and sensitive case information.
· Stay updated on changes in family law regulations and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy in legal filings.
· Assist attorneys in preparing correspondence, including letters, emails, and legal notices, to clients and opposing parties.
· Coordinate with other legal professionals within the firm to ensure smooth workflow and effective case management.
· Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and processing billing and invoicing related to divorce cases.
