We are seeking 1 qualified internal applicant for this position.  A cover letter is required, stating applicant's interest and what they can bring to the position.  A resume is not required.

The Production Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of production runs. This involves reviewing technical drawings, identifying any potential issues or deficiencies, coordinating with engineering and project management to resolve those issues, and ensuring all necessary materials are readily available for the production team. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Drawing Review and Analysis:
    • Carefully review and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) for upcoming production runs.
    • Identify any potential issues, discrepancies, or missing information in the drawings.
    • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to clarify any ambiguities and ensure drawings are accurate and complete.
    • Flag potential production challenges or bottlenecks based on drawing analysis.
  • Material Coordination:
    • Utilize BOMs to gather all necessary materials, components, and tools for production runs.
    • Ensure materials meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Stage materials in an organized and accessible manner for the production team.
    • Track material usage and identify any potential shortages or delays.
  • Cross Departmental Coordination:
    • Communicate effectively with project management and production teams to ensure seamless handoffs and project alignment.
    • Participate in project meetings to provide updates on material readiness and potential challenges.
    • Coordinate with quality control to ensure inspections are performed at the appropriate times during the production process.
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identify and resolve potential production issues before they impact production schedules.
    • Suggest improvements to processes, workflows, and documentation to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the production department

 Other Duties:

·         Take on additional duties as assigned.

 

BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

·         Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values. 

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using BOMs and other production documentation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·         Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

·         Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.

·         Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.

·         Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.

·         Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

·         Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.

·         Occasional outdoor work required.

·         Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.

·         Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.

·         Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.

·         Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

·         Education: High school diploma or equivalent

·         Experience: 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated experience in material handling, BOMs, and drawing interpretation.
